Short Croquet Open League match against Bath on Wednesday 2nd September 2026
A roll shot during the match We all enjoyed the day’s play even though we endured a whole day of wind and rain. The lawns were in very good condition thanks to the hard work by members of the club the day before. Bob Hart, the Bath team captain, wrote that the Bath team thoroughly enjoyed the day’s play and our hospitality. The resulting score was even with each team winning eight games. Clive did particularly well winning all four of his games!

A very wet Friendly Golf Croquet match at Winterborne Valley on 2nd September
Despite an unrelentingly wet day we enjoyed a very warm welcome! We won only three of our nine games of doubles but who cares when you are provided with delicious homemade cakes and biscuits afterwards! A view of the results below show that the matches were close even if we didn't win. Thank you Hilary for organising it all.

Just before the storm!
Lining up to peg out! There were only four entries this time for our monthly Internal Short Croquet tournament in Tisbury on Friday 28th August. We managed to play two competitive rounds in bright sunshine before dark clouds threatened and the heavens opened. We were forced to run for cover and call it a day. David Morley won both his games in some style, especially the second game when he still had three hoops to run and then peg out with only one bisque remaining. David hel

Tisbury triumphs in our last GC High Handicap match against Dowlish Wake
A pensive moment deciding tactics during a game of doubles We welcomed a team of five from Dowlish Wake which was the last of the High Handicap League matches for the season for us. It was a warm and blustery day but our gazebo survived lashed to the fence. David Morley, the Tisbury chairman, acted as referee and was called on several occasions to resolve possible potential faults. There were a couple of scoring problems but with the help of the SWF League Secretary the match

Tisbury's Internal Short Croquet Tournament on Friday 31st July 2026
Lawrie Webster This happened on one of Tisbury’s hottest days. Six members showed up for a super competitive tournament. We were missing two people due to personal reasons, but fingers crossed, we'll have all eight next month. The day featured three rounds of three games, each lasting 80 minutes. We wrapped up the results at the end of round three while enjoying a tasty tea with Bakewell Tart and Apple Tart, both with cream. Shoutout to Laurie, our enthusiastic nonagenarian,
