About Us

Tisbury Croquet Club is a member of the South West Croquet Federation, which coordinates clubs in the region, and organises leagues, development and coaching throughout the West of England and South Wales..
We’re also a member club of Croquet England, which is the governing body for croquet throughout England.

Playing croquet at our club
The club welcomes new members of all ages and backgrounds, including people who are completely new to croquet.

We offer to help you try out, learn, enjoy and master this fascinating, engaging sport, and participate in the life of the club.
It can take a while to get to grips with croquet skills, rules and tactics, but the rewards are tremendous.

The best way for those interested in joining the club is to register for a free Taster Session which includes informal instruction.

Arrange to come along on any mutually convenient time/day to have a go with one of our club members, who will be pleased to introduce the various types of game.

Courts

We have several mix-in sessions where courts are booked for casual play for an afternoon, morning or evening rather than pre-arranged games. These are split into Association Croquet (AC) and Golf Croquet (GC) on various days during the week.

Members, once registered, can book online to join a mix-in.

They can also bring a guest (guest fee applies) to play on mix-in days or book a court at any other time.

Courts are normally open for play 7 days a week in daylight hours, all year round, weather and maintenance schedule permitting.

We aim to provide quality coaching free of charge on mix-in days, in all mainstream forms of croquet to members at every level of proficiency.

The club is run by an annually elected committee who are very open to hearing the views of members on possible improvements. It may not be always possible to please everyone but we try. The club has no paid staff and almost everything that happens is done by volunteers.
Some of our members also find they want to give something back and support the club in various voluntary ways.

In addition to coaching provided for new members, we provide coaching opportunities for established members, in Association Croquet, Short Croquet and Golf Croquet, completely free of charge.

We have competitions within the club for Association Croquet, Golf Croquet and Short Croquet. They are a good way to play against members who you may not yet know. Games can be arranged at mutual convenience during the season. There are prizes for the winners of the various competitions.

We enter teams for friendly matches in Association Croquet, Golf Croquet and Short Croquet competitions against other clubs and hold return matches.
